Holiday Recap & Free Monogram Printable
December 27, 2011I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the time off work.
I feel like the time flew by with so many holiday celebrations each day.
Here is a picture of the lovely boyfriend and I. You may remember Ben from his "Simply Benjamin Style" post earlier this holiday season.
I also had to share this adorable picture of my godchild, Josie.
In October, I took Josie shopping for her birthday present. While at Target, we came across this pair of Hello Kitty earmuffs. I told her that we were already purchasing many things for her birthday, but I would keep it in mind for Christmas.
Well I am so glad I later purchased it! On Christmas Eve, Josie approached me before we exchanged presents and asked if I remembered the time when we saw the Hello Kitty earmuffs. She must really love them!
This girl knows the value of accessories.
During the break, I also had some time to catch up on my blog reading and pinning.
I found a wonderful link from WeddingChicks.com while browsing the blog, My Sweet Savannah.
WeddingChicks.com allows you to create your own monogram using any color combination. I have already printed my own monogram and framed it for my kitchen. This would be a wonderful graphic to incorporate into wedding programs, invitations, napkins, signage, etc.

The site also provides FREE stationary and favor templates. You better believed I pinned numerous ideas from this site to my "Wedding and Event Inspiration" board.

Candy Cane Lollipops

I was inspired by Pinterest to make candy cane lollipops. The tutorial comes from the blog, Not So Idle Hands. This project turned out to be pretty easy. Plus, the lollipops are adorable!
Supplies:
- Candy Canes (Unbroken canes only)
- Chocolate (I used white chocolate pieces made for creating candy)
- Sprinkles
- Cookies Sticks (I found these in the craft/baking aisle at Wal-Mart)

The Foyer

| This table is one of my favorite pieces. I scored it at the Pottery Barn Outlet for a great price. The glass lid opens for display of your favorite items. |
My Tree

| My tree is very woodsy with pine cones, acorns, birds and reindeer. |
My Living Room

| This fall, I was fortune to receive this mantle from my architect friend who bought and restored a historical home in town. This came out of his house and I was ecstatic to receive it. I have longed for a mantle for quite awhile. |

| I am still looking for an interesting way to fill the fireplace opening. Maybe a fake fireplace, suitcase or even a painting of a fire (suggestion from a friend). I'm still deciding, but would LOVE to hear your thoughts and suggestions. |

| I had to incorporate some Christmas spirit on my end table. I featured painted pine cones in a cheese dome. PS-That beautiful lady in the frame is my mother... a gorgeous photo! |
