If you're a first time visitor coming from another blog on the tour, welcome! If you're regular Simply Sarah Style visitor, so happy you're back.
This is only our second year in this house. We're still adjusting and exploring when it comes to decor. Also, I find myself needing more and more to fill this space, which is larger than our condo.
We recently added a new sectional to the living room and it has been life-changing. It's so comfortable and easily fits multiple people.
This year, I stuck with a black, white and metallic theme. We started down this route last year, so I thought I would continue to build on it. The tree in our old home featured a woodland theme. We were able to repurpose some items like the poinsettias and metallic ornaments, but retired others.
Also, we switched up the tree and went with a slimmer model from Target. It literally goes up in minutes, which I love!
This year, I stumbled across these "Merry Christmas" gift tags at Target and thought they would make great additions to the tree. They definitely add a more glam and modern feel to the decor.
My favorite ornament is one we ordered last year. The detail on the small globe ornament is so impressive. It is a great reminder of our fist year in the house.
As far as wrapping goes, I scooped up several supplies from the Sugar Paper collection at Target. I'm sure I'm not alone as this wrapping collection was too cute to pass up.
I also incorporated several reindeer toppers, which you might remember from this post.
Most of my holiday shopping was done at local boutiques. I picked up several gifts on a recent trip to Lexington. I discovered so many goodies at Market 301. I also fell in love with selections at adele, which is a charming home decor and gift boutique.
When we added this new sectional, it presented an opportunity for a sofa table. I had this white one hanging out in an empty room upstairs, so it got a new home and was quickly put to use, displaying a collection of holiday items.
I absolutely love this "Cheers" pillow. I bring it out for Christmas and keep it up through New Year's. It seems so fitting for the season.
Several years ago, my mom gave me this Santa. He fits in perfectly with our neutral palette.
I recently picked up the tabletop star below at friend's house. It was in her giveaway pile. I knew I could give it a good forever home. (Thanks, Nancy!) It's also a piece that can stay out all year long.
This Santa was calling my name. Since he looks like a gnome, I knew I had to have him.
Moving on from the living room to a couple other holiday details...
Did anyone else have trouble find garland? The last two weeks, I've been on a wild goose hunt. It seems that all stores are sold out of faux options and every real option I looks dead. I eventually stumbled upon a decent option at a local grocery store.
In the sunroom, you'll find this cute reindeer just hanging out amid the trees. I picked him up at Fort Thomas Central, a local gift shop. I love that you can easily switch up his look by swamping in new antlers.
Can we talk about the cuteness of this reindeer dish? He was a $6 Home Goods find. I couldn't pass him up!
And last, but not least, our bull got a makeover for the holidays. He came from my grandma's house and oversees the kitchen.

DeleteBeautiful Sarah! Love your new sectional...it looks so cozy. Your fireplace is gorgeous with the wreath and stockings. And love the bull from your grandma's house...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Becky! Yes, that bull head holds way more value than most of my decor elements. I'm glad I could give it some Christmas flair.
DeleteYour house is absolutely delightful. I would love to come have a cup of hot chocolate at that darling hot chocolate station. There are so many fun details. That cow head is to die for!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy. You're welcome over anytime! Since I'm not a coffee drinker, I had to go a different route for a hot holiday drink station. ;)
DeleteYour home exudes the woodland-feel and warmth all thru out! I don't know how you managed it all with a baby on the way! Amazing! I love all the little vignettes you added especially the one with the bull's head and deer head! So glad to share this Blogger tour series with you! CHEERS and wishing you a healthy pregnancy and delivery!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vel! Having less energy than normal made me rethink the extent of our holiday home decor. I tried to use what we have as much as possible and not go overboard with new purchases. I have a feeling that next year will be even more different with a little guy crawling around.
DeleteI hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
Sarah, your home looks beautiful! I can't get enough of black and white so was loving your choice of colors in your holiday decor. And can I please come over and swipe that deer from you - love him!!

ReplyDeleteJulia - Thanks so much for the sweet comments.
DeleteMerry Christmas to you!
Sarah! What a beautiful holiday home! I'm obsessed with your neutrals - i ventured to the wild side with red this year, but you've inspired me to stick with what I know best for next year! Your pillows are FAB and I love your little Christmas touches in your cubbies - that Santa IS too cute! Awesome job ;) I loved being a part of this tour with you all. Merry Christmas -Rachael
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rachel! You totally rocked that red this year. I loved every detail in your holiday home tour. So many good ideas to steal for next year!
DeleteHi Sarah, Your home looks absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me where you got the white and black with gold edging boxes that are under your tree?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana!
DeleteThe boxes are from Target's Sugar Paper collaboration. If you go first thing the day after Christmas, I bet you'll be able to find them marked down. They come in several different colors and are great for general storage...not just for wrapping.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
